Arugambay Tourism Association (ABTA) is an association of Family- owned hotels and restaurants based Arugambay, tourist destination(Pottuvil Division). It was founded in 1999 (Registered in 2005) and actually is composed of 139 members from the 3 different Sri Lankan ethnic groups.

ABTA works to develop the tourism in the area, facilitates both tourists and hoteliers ABTA members were strongly affected by the tsunami and very little international aid was dedicated to their relief and to re-start up their activities.  ABTA functioned as the only support for very poor associates leaving on the income created by two bungalows on the beach. Arugambay, thanks to the effort of ABTA, and the individual and spontaneous support of many tourists, has been almost reconstructed and represent a beautiful remote vacation destination.
